packers sign 4

The Green Bay Packers have signed cornerback Trevor Ford, punter Adam Graessle, nose tackle/defensive end Dean Muhtadi and tackle Dane Randolph and released linebacker Jason Hunter. The transactions were announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Originally joining Green Bay as a non-drafted free agent in 2006, Hunter appeared in 42 career games for the Packers.

The four signees all participated in rookie orientation this past weekend on a tryout basis.

Punter is the one thing I wish we would have taken with a late round pick. A good punter makes such a difference in the field position battle, and I'd say its a position that is definitely worth a 6th or 7th rounder. Hopefully this guy works out.

Remember BJ saunder? He was a great punter for the 2001 OSU championship team but then totally flopped in the pros. I can't even understand how this position doesn't correlate to the NFL.

Punters are always worth a sixth or a seventh, position players don't tend to make the team in those rounds.
