F-F-F-Favre and the Jets
Besides their D-coordinator being awful and Nugent being the worst kicker in the NFL, the jets looked good.
I really like their front seven, they had 4 sacks on a pretty stout O-line in Miami and a number of QB pressures. I am overly excited about Dwight Lowery. THe due was a 4th round pick and is starting opposit Revis. He is doing such a good job it seemed like Pennington preffered to go to Revis' side. That might be because of Ginn being a better target than who lowery covered, but it is still a good sign.
JMO---Jake Long looks like a bust. I didn't like that pick initially and i still don't. Two penalties called on him, one for holding and one for tripping. He was abused virtually all game.

I wouldn't say they looked good. They had to hold a one-win team from last year on the final drive of the game just to get the win. For every good play (touchdown to Cotchery), there was an equally lucky/Miami-aided play (hail mary to Stuckey).
At least you know they can win ugly, though.

normally they'd hit the field goal on the stuckey play...normally nugent wouldn't miss a 31 yarder. That game should have been out of reach by the end. It wasn't for numerous reasons, maybe the main reason, the jets aren't the flippin good.
IMO, they'll get better and get a new kicker. (not necessarily in that order)

he said in an interview that he kicked in high school...he only made about 50% PAT's but with his form...i'm surprised it wasn't less.
Apprently the jets are working out Jay Feely, former Giant. Welcome back.

Sign me up. ****, I could make extra points and anything under 40 yards. We all know I'm good at diving so there's a couple of roughing the kicker calls right there.

i just can't believe any kicker could miss a 32 yard field goal. i don't care if one of his legs were severed, it's 32 yards. I could do that with either foot.
Nugent almost blew the game yesterday because of his "sally-ness". Cut him!!!

i think the heat really slowed everyone down a bit. Even the jets running game, that was solid in the middle, weakend when they should have been getting stronger.
I have to give it to Miami for clawing back in that one. They may be able to surprise a little bit and beat a team like Seattle or the Bills this season.
Re: F-F-F-Favre and the Jets
that's a possiblility but did you see the bills take down the jaguars???

Yeah, the Bills will be impressive this year. So might the Titans. Dolphins could end up being 8-8, with the Jets 10-6.

If the Titans get a QB that can game manager, much like Todd Collins did for the Redskins in 2007, they will be tough. I couldn't tell you more than three guys on their defense but it has to be rated as a top 10, possibly top 5, unit.

Down on gholston, equally down on Long. Although I have been down on long since well before the draft. He looks like he is moving in mud.
