Brewers vs. Cardinals Aug 26th and 27th
2 huge games coming right up.
Its time for Sheets to earn his keep tonight as a big money pitcher. He has been inconsistent the past 2 months, but we know that the talent is there. Baseball prospectus says that our playoff chances are impacted by 13% over these next 2 games. If we can win this one we guarantee that St. Louis cannot make up any ground on us head to head for the rest of the year.
What are your thoughts?
Go Brew Crew!

My thoughts are there is no such thing as a guarantee coming from a stat check. Anything can happen.
These games are, infact, huge for the crew but they are not do or die. Despite Ollie being a dooshey and using statistics against my cardinal bashing, i still say they are a tad overrated and may crumble sooner rather than later.

they are a tad overrated, but in a way so are the Brewers. They are 4 wins ahead of their Pythagorean win expectancy. However, the Brewers are a better team than the Cardinals. Lets just not let Pujols beat us

I guess we shall see if this statement is accurate in a few hours. What's the overall season record between the two? I can't imagine the Brewers sweep of St. Louis in July helping the Cards' cause too much.

The cubs seem unstoppable this year. I'll be interested to see how they fair in the playoffs, but dare i say; could this be their year?

I never knew fielder could get three hits and all of them be singles. It's almost like he's trying to become a complete hitter. Now all we need is Braun to take a walk at some point.

we are 10-4 against the Cardinals this year. And no matter what happened last night, we would still be the better team:) Those things don't change on a one-game basis. Statistically, we are better than St. Louis yet considerably far behind the Cubs

The brewers lost their composure last night after Carlos and Pujols almost got into that fight. The Cards got fired up, and Riske couldn't locate any of his pitches. The important thing is that we got one game, and as long as we continue to play well I like our chances.

well yea but we have to lock this up like the red socks did for the wild card. they are like 7.5 games ahead or something like that and we are 3.5??
