Brewers vs Nationals

Big four game series starts tonight. Normally I wouldn't call a series against the Nats "big", but considering our stumbles lately, a sweep here would be huge for confidence and our record. We really have to take advantage of the weak teams and not play down to their level.

Also, Sheets needs to get back on track...he's been terribly average the last few starts.


FRIDAY - CC Sabathia vs Collin Balester
SATURDAY - Ben Sheets vs Tim Redding
SUNDAY - Manny Parra vs John Lannan
MONDAY - Dave Bush vs Garrett Mock

Sheets does need to wake up, at least he isn't hurt at this point in the season. Speaking of hurt, isn't it about time for Harden to take ill?

that would be great if the cubbies best pitcher got hurt

Brewers off to a good start. Nats will be trickier than most people think...they're fast on the bases and have nothing to play for.

Sheets finally matched Sabathia tonight. Great game...let's hope he can keep it going.

Sheets was looking good, i only caught a couple innings but it is good to see him coming back a bit.

Cubs lost too. Not sure if it's better that the cubs beat the cardinals or the other way around. I just want the crew to get a playoff spot, i really don't care if they win the division.

Great win today. Kendall may be invaluable behind the plate, but Rivera is definitely a greater threat at the plate - which is something we'll need come September.

Have you heard anything more than i have about kendal? I don't get this, he's hitting like garbage and hasn't even caught a day off this half of the season. I'm sure he is a great catcher and calls a great game but if that is the crew's main concern have kendall give signes to Rivera from the dugout.

It's becoming ignorant on Yoost's part to not play both players.

Great sweep for the Crew! Now we go on the West Coast, where we are a combined 21-47 against the Dodgers and Padres since we joined the National League. This year better be different.

second sweep of the season. this is good. first time since what 92 that we have been above 15 games

It's nice that the sweeps have happened later in the year. I'm still tormented by last years slide as the year progressed. With CC and Sheets the crew shouldn't hit too many 3 or 4 game losing streaks. I would think winning 3 and losing 2 from here out will get us a playoff spot. If we do better than that it may be a shot at the division.

drago your numbers are right. Winning 3 out of 5 for the rest of the year would give us 94 wins. If that doesn't win the wild card that will be a HUGE upset

From the schedule i have heard they have, it seems highly likely that of the three starters not named Ben, or CC that one will win each time the three take the hill. Strange that they still get offense with Braun out.

I wish Kapler could keep getting playing time, he has certainly cooled off as of late but he's just a solid ball player.
