Shots were even at 18 but Whitewater was able to get up 4-0 before Carroll knocked in two after the 73rd minute. I did not watch the game but from what I heard, Whitewater dominated possession and took advantage of Carroll's "less than physical" midfield.

Disappointing for the Pios but you had to know they weren't going undefeated and it is better to lose non-conference matches before the real games start.

I'll chalk some of the blame up on inexperience. Ultimately I think this game will help the younger guys realize what it takes to beat the top teams, and will be that reality check (a la Wisconsin Lutheran last year) to really get them going.

I agree. Any time you get to play a team like Whitewater, it's a good thing. I'm disappointed in the result but this sort of thing happens.

Letting a team go up 4-0 on you is not one of the things that should happen to a decent team. Especially one with studly Stas in back.

That score means that more than the midfield let down... without seeing the game I wouldn't know where, but I imagine this will help refocus them !

we lost to wastewater 1-0 on a crap goal that deflected off of one of our defenders, really even game though. sounds like they may have improved if they got 4 goals on carroll

They finished we didn't. We had a few nick off the post in the first 20 min.

hey Vaughan, i saw you guys beat Viterbo in a similar fashion to Norbert. Are they good this year? Evertime I have seen them they look like a decent high school team. Despite losing both games, it seems like they are putting up decent fights.

viterbo is a decent team, its hard to tell at the beginning of the season but it was a fairly close game. we possessed the ball fairly easy against them but we just can't get the finishing. they also had two guys on their team that transfered from stritch so that was some incentive to play them. they play hard and are a bit chippy but they have always been like that

They were a good team but I was a 3-0 game in all honesty. They were awarded a pk late and other than that they only had one oppertunity at goal and our keeper made a great save. They play well through the back but their d played a lot of long ball.
