Defensive Player of the Year Empty Defensive Player of the Year

As great of a season as Charles Woodson had this year I really think the NFL dropped the ball in not giving it to Revis. It's one of those awards that, I believe, is hard to decide who gets it. Woodson had eye-popping statistics with the 9 picks and 3 returned for touchdowns, but the fact that Revis held all receivers he lined up against under 35 yds (check that stat for accuracy, I could be wrong) screams, in my opinion, a great defensive player and someone that should have gotten the award. One sports writer wrote that this was a case where there wasn't really a wrong choice, which is somewhat true I guess, but I do think that Revis was the best defensive player in football this year. I wish I could have been able to watch him play more.

Woodson had some really great plays this year, both in the pass and the run. For me, i wanted Revis to get the award but by teams being able to pick on the opposite corner for more than half the season.

With Woodson, he had Harris on the other side for most of the year. Looking at that from an offensive stand point, who do you throw at? With the Jets, you can destroy the opposite corner if you want to (Strickland, Sheppard or Lowery).

I was disappointed with the award but Woodson really did have a great year and i'm glad he got it, I just wish Revis had more than a measley quarter of the votes.

BTW, Ted Ginn got over 90 yards on Revis, most coming on one play where the safety didn't help (thanks Rhodes).

Um, except the Jets had one of the best pass rush / run defenses in the league. You can't even compare Green Bay's D(#2 in the league) to them. I feel they should have split this award. Both had huge impacts on games, are amazing athletes and studs on the top 2 defenses in the league.

Rex Ryan can suck my fat black **** for talking **** however.
