not going to watch but probably going to be the least entertaining game ever. Grinnell will pack it like usual and Beloit wont be able to break through. Grinnell will score on a counter...

Exarhos, Stephenson and Koester had 12 shots between them

Looks like a pretty even match up both on paper and judging by their previous meeting.

2 minutes in ...Marc Robinson to Jackson Wilkins for the goal...nicely placed on the ground.

Rosenberg has had two nice crosses, one almost found the net...

Stevenson had a shot that drilled the near post...followed by a corner that was cleared by Lipps...somehow for a goal kick.

Jackson with his second shot and second goal at the 6th minute....

Robinson is having his way with the defense. He's megged Prouty and Exharos has no idea where to stand when the attack is coming at him. The flat four is as flat as i have ever seen them and they are really struggling at this point.

On a positive...Rosenberg, stephenson and koester look pretty sharp. I won't be surprised if this game gets close.

Connely just missed a rocket shot from 25 yards out. Schemper probably had it covered had it been on the mark but the defense is just way to flat. There i s no pressure outisde of Grinnell's defensive shell.

Grinnell needs to change their formation to have any kind o fchance in this.

Robinson tracked down a clear for about 40 or 50 yards. A defender played it to Schemper with Robinson still in pursuit...Schemper miss kicked it almost getting a shot for Robinson but the pony tail came in and cleared it. Close play.

Lipps almost gave up a goal a few minutes prior.

Stephenson just missed a backheel goal, went right to Lipps' hands. Very close.

Off a short throw in Grinnell's corner...the ball got whipped in, Lipps came out for a save, hitting his knee...keeping the ball alive, was passed to Rosenberg's feet where he slid it past the goal line with Lipps still down.

Robinson came flying in out of no where. Defenders could barely keep up with him, he somehow got a food on it, popping it sky high, coming straight down on the inside of the back post, bounced across the goal line and cleared by Prouty.

Once Brian Maunze went out, the Beloit attack has looked better. Maunze is not exactly a strong player where as Robinson is a real game changer. It's interesting they start with Maunze on top and Robinson out wide.

Rosenberg doesn't look like much but he plays as good as anyone out on th ewing. He's always open for passes, plays nice touch balls through the middle and crosses very well on the move.

He just drew a foul on the 20 yard line...shot was blocked.

Halftime.

Beloit is opening the half all over Grinnell. The first two minutes were spent peppering their defense with crosses but no shots. I'ts balancing out righ tnow. Good save by Lipps on a challenge from Stephenson.

I may be wrong but Bo Wilkins is normally an attacker but is opening the half in front of an almost flat four defense. He looks fine there, he's a quality player but i'm surprised to see Beloit getting away with what has been working.

number 8 had another through ball but could not gt there in time.

Stephenson slipped paced Beloit's defense, tried to shoot but was bocked by Lipps. The ball continued to roll just outside of the post where a Grinnell Sub came flying in but at a poor angle, overrunning the easy tap in.

This will cost them. It was WIDE open, you cannot miss plays lik ethat five minutes into the half.

Beloit's offense is from another planet right now. Every touch is to feet, every player is flying at top speed. It's no wonder they only had two losses on the year but i'm suprrised they didn't get more goals throughout the season.

Part of it must be Jackson being a frosh. He'll be a power in years to come.

Grinnell is getting back to their ways of counter attacking. Very quickly down Rosenberg's side for an early cross. Cleared away for a corner which wa salso cleared.

There have been plenty of dangerous opportunties this half. The 2-1 score will change by the games end...IMO

Prouty playe da 45 yard ball on an angle passed Lipps. Stephenson was on the other end but flinched when Lipps went up for it. Had he kept his eyes open, he'd have had a walk in.(59th minute)

Jackson Wilkins gets a ball from number Brian M...he almost outran the defender with the ball at his feet. It went out of bounds for a goal kick.

Grinnell counters back for a nice cross but lost header in the 18.

It's a track meet. Back to Beloit, Robinson slots a beautiful ball to Jackson, who split two defenders to get there, knocks a shot but right at Schemper who go tto the ground in more than enough time. Schemper is the real deal in the net.

Jackson is casting a shadow on his brother Bo. Bo cannot get it going with an offense that is providing him and other with ample opportunities. He's not playin gbad but he is no where near the as solid as his brother right now.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse here but Brian Maunze is too weak to play in games like this. He has good stats over the year to support his play but he is not physical enough to take on a Grinnell back line. If they get his position replaced next season, they will be very very dangerous up front.

Connely is another guy that is under the radar but is very good. All these guys play fast and get forward. It's a good style of play for this type of game, they are denying Grinnell opportunties to possess by attacking them with every breath.

precision passing. Beloit is putting on an absolute clinic. probbly 10 passes in their attacking third before rifling a shot wide of the net.

Grinnell counters back...soft shot for Stephenson with two beloit players draped all over him.

Grinnell looks like they left their flat four for a three flat, diamond back. They're pushing both wings up leaving the pony tail and Prouty stacked one over the other in the back.

As they should, they are selling out for the attack...first time in Grinnell history i bet.

Stephenson let one drift by his feet off a long cross from the left, then snapped back across the net. Stephenson couldn't react fast enough and let it go. Had he taken the shot, it would have been a tight spot to get it in but you have to at least try for the damn thing!!

correction...i think tat was rosenberg that let it go through. Surprising to say the least. He usually has a quick trigger.

ROSENBERG GOAL

beauty pass down the right hash. Rosenberg puts on a great touch with two defenders bearing down on him, with virtually no angle, buries it to the back post just pasted Nathan Lipps.

From my angle i could not see if he could have had the save but with where the ball crossed the end line, Lipps must have had a shot at that.

Grinnell is staying high with their attack. They are still pushing the three top guys forward but now hav emore midfield prsence to help out.

If they did this all season, they'd have no conferences losses. Their coach is as weak as you can find in the conference.

where the crap is stephenson? in a 2-2 game yo uwould think your horse would come out of his shell a bit. I can't believe Grinnell got back in this without much of anything from their leading scorer.

surprisingly slowing down with five left. Both sides have poured tons of energy into this, and have to be running low.

Coudln't agree more. They ahve a stud in Prouty but you wouldn't know it with the way they play him. It's just lame and boring soccer. Yet there they are in the finals. Stupid PK's...they should just keep going with OT's.

STephenson finally showed his face. beat a defender but ran into a tackle after that. Maybe he'll show up for overtime.

Pony tail got tripped up by Wilkins. Before that Robinson blew passed his defender. Beloit is all over these guys, these defenders owe Schemper a stake dinner regardless of the outcome.

Connely, Robsinson and both Wilkins boys are brining it. Their touches are off the charts right now. Connely was just called for a hand ball in Grinnell's box but otherwise was setting up for yet another attack.

Beloit hasn't scored in over an hour and a half of game time.
