A perfect way to lose
As many have stated, the Jets were not supposed to walk into San Diego and beat them. That has been an elite team for a while now and we are starting a new QB. Had the Jets entered the game with a four leaf clover we could have pulled out a victory, there is no doubt in my mind.
What i loved about this loss was that Favre got to air it out for virtually an entire half. He got to throw to Stuckey, Smith, Cotch, Keller, Baker, Coles and Leon on multpile occassions. What more could we ask for? I bet right now Favre is sitting at home thinking about his favorite targets or adjusting to game film on how Chansi runs a route as opposed to Coles.
How many attempts did he have? Near 50 i believe and that is all we could ask for. What if we had lost 20 to 17 and Favre was told to play game manager like he did against New England? He would still know next to nothing about his receiving corps and we STILL would have had a big L in the newspaper.
Favre got to air it out. He made plenty of mistakes and so did his receivers but now he has film on it, he has a feeling for it and will be ready to improve even further after the Cards and the bye week.
I could care less about the score, i'm happy as a pig in **** that Favre got that many pass attempts.
They only way is up from here.

I respect the optimism, Drago.

what was terrible was their 3rd down defense. I mean that was flat out the worst i have seen of any team in years. It's not like SD had 3rd and 3 either...they were 3rd and longs and the DB's just dropped back, rivers found someone underneath and he jogged for the first.
Horrible play calling by Sutton...again.

that's true SD first couple of drives (besides the INT return) was 3rd down after 3rd down resulting in 1st downs.

Silver lining huh? Your Jets just got murdered on national television, your coach calls for shot gun on the 2, 1 and half yard line, your starting running back is none-other than the Dancing Bear of Chicago and you think that is perfect?
You should be a Chief's fan this year.

You're a homo. Can't a be an optomist for two seconds as my team gets their asses handed to them? I will find you and steal your state's corn.
Who's laughin now?

Your optimism about the passing game seems warranted. Owning Stuckey looks better and better each week. However, Davey Dodecahedron pointed out, the Jets have some serious running issues. Seeing their running stats is a strange mix of comedy and tragedy. Its time they look for free agents or test the trade waters, because the current backs gotta go.

Both of them? Personally i put a ton of blame on the front office for getting Jones. I don't want to get into it but he is so average it makes me want to puke.
Washington could be the best #2 back in the NFL next to felix jones and that is only because Barber is so good. Once Jessie Chatman gets back i would love to see him take over the number 1 back duties but it will never happen.
Jones is just awful, i hate that he's a jet and i hate that he gets the majority of the carries. It's strange, he's not good at anything...yet there he is.
