i liked the small school (carroll), aside from the tuition it was a nice place. I am of the mind that college is becoming more obsolete with everyone and their mother attending anymore. Tuition costs are through the roof, i don't see how this can continue.

I was an undergrad at UWL which is a smaller school and enjoyed it there. I drove to Madison almost every weekend my freshman year to visit my gf at the time. It's an intoxicating place. If you think you can handle the school stress (which is heavy most anywhere you go to school, but I hear Madison can be pretty rough) then you'll most likely love it. Great area.

You'll probably be fine with the large school, as long as you aren't a big time partier. If you are a partier now, you may not be one when you get in, also can go the other way. The only people that struggle at Madison are the people that don't know when to say "no" to attending a mid-week party.

If you can get some work done while your friends get hammered, chances are you'll have a great experience. If you don't have the best brakes for drinking, you may be in a bit of trouble.

Just my opinion though.
