Sales Tactic Question
So for the few readers that are on here, what say you?
My dad and a friend of his are heading up this company that sells custom mouth guards. They are form fitted to the athletes teeth and come in absolutely whatever design you want. I figure my market is going to largely be high school football. I need to find a way to get my foot in the door.
Tonight i'll be approaching the Greenfield coach and later this week i'll be trying to get in with arrowhead. I am going to just do the introducing method firt but was thinking the best way may be getting a little booth at the parent/team meetings or before specific home games. (will that cost money you think?)
Any other thoughts?

Re: Sales Tactic Question
If by "design" you mean colors and designs, then you need to target the kids. You need to set up a booth with some samples and photos and have the kids ask their parents for the money to buy it. On the other end, with the coaches and the parents, I would focus more on the design and on how each mouthpiece is formed for that specific individual and try to back up the benefits of this with some facts (I'm assuming your dad would have some). Pretty sure I didn't bring up anything you haven't already thought of, but that's how I'd do it: Flash/aesthetics with the kids and facts/benefits with parents and coaches.

Re: Sales Tactic Question
i have 9 mouthguards that are specially made. Five for Arrowhead High School and 4 that are just randoms. They all look pretty cool so i don't think i'll have much problem if i can just get them in front of people somehow.
i thought by targeting the coaches you can almost get an entire team, especially with a wealthy school like Arrowhead. We'll see how it goes.

Maybe also try to get the athletics director in the meeting?

Yeah, you are right about the AD. I'm going to need to find a way in on this, not sure what my strategy should be yet.
Re: Sales Tactic Question
Don't you know a few people from coaching? Maybe get some references together? I'm wondering if it'd be better to go to each school individually or a mass group? Kinda leaning toward individually

I'm going to have to be pretty forward about this on the up front. I do think the guards will sell themselves once full teams have them. I also think Carroll is a possiblity, maybe once i meet the coaches and everything i can probe them with questions.

Stare your very own pyramid scheme. Promise people money and then take it from them. People love that ****.
