Time to stir things up
The site has been dead and nothing exciting is happening. I was bored tonight and was looking over old old posts and realizing how stupid some poeple were and how wrong they were in everything they said (especially before the 2008 season). I will post them and my responses tomorrow....I gotta go to bed. And feel free to call me out, will make things fun..
Re: Time to stir things up
I might as well just call myself out on the only post possible...
"not going to watch but probably going to be the least entertaining game ever. Grinnell will pack it in like usual and Beloit wont be able to break through. Grinnell will score on a counter..."
Grinnell 1 Beloit 0
I was completely wrong haha, but thats it

.There is no way they are as good as kim is saying. Is she ever going to post? Because she is overvaluing their talent. I saw Carroll play, they were heavily reliant on their sweeper, who, to my knowledge has graduated.
Their defense was nothing to be impressed with, all they had were forwards playing on the back line. Well, not forwards, forwards would actually be a threat to attack. Their right back was the only really good attacking defender, the other was just garbage.
18-4, Double OT loss in 2nd Round of NCAA, think we were ok...

.I guess i have confidence they'll be good. Whenever you have a team that is this dominating on the wings you can win a lot of games just be creating more opportunities. You don't even need to have the stud forward you just need more opportunities.
I am not a fan of their central mids, Derek is an awesome player but he needs someone to play defense along side of him...Carlson does not play defense.
I think we did just fine....

Carroll will be solid this year even without JJ Guttman and Frederick Schneider. A birth in the Midwest Conference Tourny is a guarantee. The real test is how they perform against some of the best teams in Wisco, Minn and Ill in the likes of UW Oshkosh, UW Whitewater, St. Thomas, and Wheaton.
i wouldn't call that a guarantee. teams like yours, virtually all offense, can crumble regardless of the competition. I don't want to see it, but i could see them dropping one to a Grinnell or Lawerance.
If I would have saw this preseason I would have laughed my ass off. I came into the year knowing that the St.Norberts game on sep 15th would decide who won the conference. I posted it on d3kicks....And it did.. Carroll 9-0...st.norbert 8-1

.Am I the only person you respond to on here?
I am curious to know if you have ever seen Grinnell play? I am guessing that you have not but if you want to have any kind of informed opinion, your call, check them out before bashing them.
Ollie lol, this ones funny to me because before the 08 season all you did was bash them and say they should concentrate on fixing their hair instead of playing soccer and they will always just be an average team...

.Ripon is going to need a lot of help this year. I don't see them winning more than 2 conference games.
They won 4, suspect them to make a push into the top 4 next year

Disagree Craig
by Cristiano3636 on Wed Nov 11, 2009 4:01 pm
.Not only do i disagree with you Craig, but I think Schemper should get player of the year. He didn't just save two pk's (which Sta didn't do... the reason you guys lost, probably your least valuable player in the tournament, also getting caught off guard to get scored to send the game to ot in the first place.) He had some HUGE saves in both games of the tournament. No way does Grinnell win either of those games without him. Those were some of the most solid gk'ing performances I have ever seen. On top of that he has been solid all year. You of all people should know that, seeing as he is the reason your first game against Grinnell got to overtime in the first place, making several large saves in that game. MVP of conference. He was Most Valuable Player... Grinnell goes nowhere without him. Plus Sta got his 1st team last year. Share the love, you gotta give Schemper the nod.
No wonder why he went into hiding lol

Not fair. I wrote that during the beginning of the 2007 season and i stick to my story. You were not the player you are now.
I think you were playing Carthage and you did a **** ton of standing around, where as the year prior Derek seemed to be more involved (partially due to playing higher on the field) but also that you (criag) clogged a lot of space for anyone else to work into.
During that game you scored the game winner with basically no time left on the clock but it was not your finest moment. Possibly just a bad game on your part, or maybe I looked past you for some reason. (i vote the prior )
Re: Time to stir things up
It's funny how much hate was shown towards carroll. I'm curious to see if people will still doubt that they'll finish top 4 in conference this next year as well. I mean especially after the 08 season when only 2 starters were lost they were banking on CU barely reaching the tournament this last season was a little more justified losing 5 starters but to still doubt the ability of those returning to lose in the MWC is interesting. Even drago way to be a loser and root against the obvious abilities left.

Re: Time to stir things up
Damn you Craig for digging up my undignified past.
I was not impressed with Grinnell for most of last (08) season but started changing my tune towards the end. Going into the offseason they had a lot of returning players and I decided to make them my horse. As it turns out, I was right in that they won the conference tournament.
Not sure who I'll be looking at next year but it should be a much closer finish than years past. I could see five teams making a serious run for the crown.

Like I said, I thought you were playing Carthage. All i really remember about the game is that it was at home, tied late in the match and that you scored from about 15 yards out with very little time remaining in the left side netting in the south-goal.
Like i said, I wasn't impressed that match but don't worry Craig, I have swayed my opinion since. Maybe it was a bad game or maybe i have a bad eye for the game...you can pick.
Re: Time to stir things up
I think your talking about the game against Hamline University. I tied the game 1-1 with about 5 min left...we lost 2-1 in OT.
I was frustrated that game cause Hamline sucked dick and we didnt punish them. I dont try when im pissed off like that.

Re: Time to stir things up
It's entirely possible but it was one of the first times i saw you play. I was probably overly critical but that's sort of how those types of reports work. If I wrote the whole thing like vanilla, it would be even more boring to read than it would be to write.
Re: Time to stir things up
and i must add that hamline goal was off a beautifully served ball from the left foot of yours truly
