Hey Grinnell, screw the Carroll homers, including me. You guys put up a good fight in your game tonight and do deserve credit for not only getting there but giving them all you had to give. We joke about you playing a shell defense (which is partially true) but most people want to look past how strong Schemper and Prouty were this year. Prouty would start on any team in the conference and if Schemper were on the same squad as Miaskowski, well there would be a battle. Teammates on both sides would disagree profucly but the fact of the matter is, they are both very capable players and perhaps the most important position on the pitch.

I was sad to see Grinnell not get a goal. I thought being down 1-0 that they had a great chance to equalize but it's all a process. The 2009 Grinnell squad will not personally benefit from their team's success but their future teams will. Their future teams will have a nail to pin their cap on and say, "why not us?"

I was too hard on your coach in calling him out for playing a shell against Beloit. He pulled you out of your shell later in the half then i would have but he (and clearly the team) got the two necessary goals to prolong the game.

Good luck next year, the conference is looking to close the gap between top and bottom teams. With Beloit, Grinnell, Ripon and Illinois College putting together good campaigns, this conference may earn an at large bid just yet.

Lets hope to get a second team in the NCAA's next year. It's a collective step but one the MWC is able to make.

MWC is far from getting two teams in the tournament...we saw that this year and had we gone out against Grinnell last year at 16-4 we wouldnt have gotten a bid with wins against UW-W, UW-O, St.Thomas, Carthage, St.Norberts. etc. Before that happens the MWC needs to prove to the NCAA committee that a MWC can make a deep run....why put another MWC team in the dance when the traditional winner of the conference cant get past the 2nd Round...

My whole point is the games are getting closer in the NCAA's. I know Grinnell did not win but Norbert got to the sweet 16 a few years ago and Carroll was 30 seconds from PK's last year.

A lot of people thought Grinnell would get smoked in yesterday's game...and by somce accounts, they did. But they also had some nice opportunities late in the game when it was stil 1-0...

Either way, i thought they put up a nice fight and the conference as a whole is gaining ground...aside from a few teams.

As expected. Im gonna say Loras is gonna host again although if Trinity wins they have a chance too. Im just thinking since Dominican is close to Loras that Loras might get the nod since the NCAA likes to have a central location. That Loras/Trinity match-up will be a good one if both win their sweet 16 games
