Re: Best of the Cheese League
The big trade is a push. Smith gets you yards and Fitzgerald gives you touchdowns, Smith gives you yards. What I don't like about Fitzgerald is that he has never been the absolute best reciever in the NFL. With that in mind, I think he is always a bit overrated. Once he puts together a season that even Braylon Edwards had a couple years ago, I'll be ready to call him a top three receiver. As it stands, I think he is the same as the other top flight receivers.
Slaton is sort of a push with Williams. Slaton is the unheradled number one but Williams has a backup that is a first round pick. News flash, first round picks get carries. It's a nice trade but I don't know that you really accomplished anything other than dropping two guys that were on the same team. Which is not a bad idea.

Re: Best of the Cheese League
First let me say that Hayward-Bey, not Nate Washington, is my #1 receiver. Thank you.
My vote goes to I'm a Whore. Not just because he has my man-crush Hines Ward... but partly because of that.

Re: Best of the Cheese League
Hines Ward is ancient in football terms. Why do you still want this guy? Not only is his relacement the number one receiver now but he has the future number two on the roster as well. Writing is on the wall. Hines is nearing the end.
Re: Best of the Cheese League
Sometimes, decisions go beyond numbers. I know that Hines-y won't be the top scorer. I know he isn't the go-to receiver in the red zone. I know he's old and delivers and receives big hits. But he's my ****ing favorite player, and I want him on my team. I would be happy to have his babies. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
I'm looking over the league right now, and I like the Cervecerros team other than the QB. If Schaub or Favre surprises with a good season, or if you can find someone else, I think you'll compete for the title.

Re: Best of the Cheese League
I hear you. The worst is when i am playing against leon. I mean, he is my favorite athlete, any sport, maybe of all time (save don Mattingly). I just love the guy and want him to blow by anyone on the field.
That said, Ward had a nice night last night...minus the fumble.

Re: Best of the Cheese League
With Pierre Thomas out, I am wondering how many people stick Reggie Bush in there. I think he is an average running back but against the Lions, that's all you'll need.
