Re: Edwards Being Shopped
Any speculation about what they would want for him? Assuming his value is relatively low, I would think that several teams would make a run at him. The Packers definitely don't need another receiver, so I they would be silly to try for him, but if I was a fan of another team I might not be opposed to giving him a try. I'd say he's no more of a risk than getting a receiver in the draft.

The offer i heard was a 1st and a 3rd from the Giants. Not to mention the salary.
Crazy what teams think of players because of one great season (2007)

1st and a 3rd? Thats crazy. Just like you said, one season doesn't make a player that valuable. I'd give up a 2nd for him, but no more.

Funny thing is, the best receiver in the NFL IMO, was traded for a 4th.
Do GM's actually watch the games or just read about 40 times and TD's over random 10 to 16 game spread?

I heard a second, a fifth and Steve Smith of the Giants. The Giants declined.

He's just not worth it. He had one good season and about three bad ones. Not even AVERAGE ones...just bad. IDK, I don't see it in this guy. I'd almost rather take a flier on Holt or Harrison.

He might have a strong year, there is no telling. Let me suggest that you watch a Browns game once or twice before you comment on this guy. It had to be nearly 15% of the balls thrown to her were out-right dropped.
He is fast but so is Troy Williamson, it doesn't make him worth 10 million and draft picks.

i did watch there games. i saw the two monday night games AND the sunday night game. edwards almost single handily beat the giants who were undefeated! if he can have games like that, he can be a dominating player.
it is not surprising that the giants are a team that want to get him!

Re: Edwards Being Shopped
In that game he had 5 catches for 150 yards and one touchdown. In that season he had 55 catches for 873 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Does that sound like someone worth one tenth of a teams salary cap and draft picks?
Take away the Giant's game, he has 50 catches (3.1 per game), 723 yards (45.2 per game) and 2 touchdowns. Maybe in the crazy world of Plaintiff93, that is called good or even great production. In the real world that is no better than most team's third receiver.
If you take that one game away Edwards had a worse 2008 than these TE's: John Carlson (who?), Bo Scaife, Zach Miller, Antonio Gates, Owen Daniels, Dallas Clark, Jason Witten, Chris Cooley and Tony Gonzalez.
Do you think John Carlson and Owen Daniels are worth 11 million a year and draft picks?

16 TD's and I don't see him living up to the money. You can say he can be great and he might be but i'd prefer the sure thing in Boldin since he was good/great before the arrival of mr. I am not even human-Fitzgerald.
I'd take Boldin over Edwards without even blinking.
