Jets MVP
Please please please tell me that there is not a bunch of "Favre is the reason we're winning" when it should be "We're using Leon Washington and he's winning it for us"

Re: Jets MVP
I don't think it is either of those guys. I give the nod to Kris Jenkins. Infact, i'll be offended if he doesn't get serious recognition for defensive player of the year.
He has single handily changed the defense for the Jets, he is a monster.

I know you do not like Favre but calling a kick returner your MVP when a QB is replacing the likes of Chad Pennington and/or Kellen Clemens? Come on, did you see Clemens play?
If Favre goes down they will squeak by with a wild card birth but that is it.

Re: Jets MVP
I don't buy it. Pennington is playing very well in Miami, and no there turnaround is not due solely to him, but he's been a key part. And Washington is not just a kick returner. He's their main offensive weapon. I do agree with Matt that Kris Jenkins is another big factor. I'd give it to Washington for offense/special teams and Jenkins for defensive, with a slight nod to Revis.

Re: Jets MVP
penny's numbers look really good but you need to see some of the plays. All...and i do mean all...of his long passes were trick plays. Either end around pitches to him or a hand off with a pitch back. He just cannot lineup as a QB and throw deep, he needs the element of deception.
I think Kellen would have played pretty well this year. you can be damn sure that he wouldn't have thrown 12 picks so far but he also would not have as many TD's and there is no telling how many wins he'd have. Sort of a stab in the dark guess, but i'd say the same 6 wins as the currently have....having beaten different teams (beating the raiders, loss to the pats).
Jenkins is a flat out stud, i hope he does not play the pro bowl, no sense in getting hurt but i want him to get some notoriety.

I can't believe you honestly believe it is favre and his NFL leading 12 picks as the reason to the jets success. Let alone that you blame rodgers' great year on him and not anyone else on that team.

Carter is right, Reynolds. Favre's interceptions in the red zone are not something that legends do. As for Rodgers, he's having a great season. Green Bay's defense has been letting them down this season.

To his credit, he has done a lot of things that no jets QB has been able to do since Vinny had that great year in 98. Coming from behind, picking up long 3rd down conversions...stuff that penny could never do.

Easy to say someone sucks if you discount their good games. Especially against one of the leagues better defenses.

Its Rashard Mendenhall! Wait, did you say Jets? And someone who is actually playing? Go Rashard!
But seriously I think its Washington with that beautiful kick return he had. Go Leon, sign my hat!
