NFL | Henry destitute
Wed, 9 Jul 2008 09:43:57 -0700
The Dayton Daily News reports free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals) wants taxpayers to pay for a record of his trial because he is out of money. Henry's attorney, Perry Ancona, said Henry does not have enough money to pay for a transcript. Ancona filed a motion asking for taxpayers to pay for a written transcript of his trial. "He has no funds whatsoever and can't even meet his current obligations," Ancona said. Henry's Kentucky house was auctioned in May when he failed to pay the mortgage and his vehicle was repossessed last month.

Hilarious and sad. Seriously, how do you just spend that much money constantly?? I just don't understand....

And hell no to having taxpayers pay for it!

what's funny about henry, is he never made that much anyway. He was a 3rd round pick, i believe that lands his salary in the 750k to 1mil range. He played for 3 years, after taxes and a house i'm sure he had a large mortgage on...i could see that happening.

He was planning on playing for a while, and looked like he woudl be able to...but i guess drugs and guns can get in the way of that.
