I find it hard to belive you don't know, the beauty you are.
But if you don't, let me be your eyes a hand to your darkness, so you won't be afraid.
Please put down your hands, cause I see you...

Hopefully it occurs to me that there's one thing I cant stand.
That's the thought of a single day, without your head in my hand.

Maybe my favorite ever...

don't sit down...
it's time to dig another one.

DMB-The Dreaming Tree
Standing here
The old man said to me
"Long before these crowded streets
Here stood my dreaming tree"
Below it he would sit
For hours at a time
Now progress takes away
What forever took to find
Now he's falling hard
He feels the falling dark
How he longs to be
Beneath his dreaming tree
Conquered fear to climb
A moment froze in time
When the girl who first he kissed
Promised him she'd be his
I think if this song would have ever become popular it would have changed the way a lot of people think about DMB. Very dark and introspective song, my favorite of theirs

Are you saying Tribe Called Quest only have 6 fans? Let me guess.... you were at the DMB concert at Alpine?
and I'm not a real fan of Cannibal Corpse, but the song is hilarious, as are most of their lyrics

Sorry I meant to say 16 fans. NO i wasn't at alpine valley. I'm not really into DMB that much anymore, but I respect the fact that they are fantastic musicians. Their drummer is regarded as one of the best 2 drummers alive. I respect bands that can put on a live show, and DMB does it as well as anyone.

Re: Favorite Lyrics (keep 'em short)
They really utilize his drumming skills in their songs....... Im pretty sure I could play most of their songs on boxes with my dack as a drumstick. If you want to see good drumming listen to some double bass drumming in the group mentioned above.
So you have moved onto who since you're no longer a fan? Jack Johnson or possibly the Joanus (sp?) Brothers? Trying to think of what all the clones like now adays

I like Jack, he's good in small doses and can also put on a pretty decent live show (i haven't seen one yet, just what i heard).
Do you like any soft rock or alternative? Just curious.

If you listen to just radio cuts of their songs than I agree. In a live setting his drumming is unbelievable. This is also recognized in the music community. But if you want to just cut it down with lame attempts at minimizing their skill then I guess we won't have any reasonable discussion on the matter
There's one thing if you don't like the music. But recognizing talent is entire different thing. The band has produced scores for feature and independent films, and all their band members are involved in many different projects.
And no I don't like Jack Johnson really and I have no clue who the other group is.

Dave Matthews Band is a very good, talented band. If you don't like their style of music, that is a completely different issue. And not ever Dave Matthews Band fan is a fan of Jack Johnson, as Datrain and myself are living examples. And the Jonas Brothers, from what I know (which is very little) is nothing like either group as they are a kiddie group from Disney more comparable to Hanson.

I think that was his point.

the problem with the band is that they seem to be so polarizing. Most hardcore dave-heads think that they are the only great band on Earth. Thank god I never was like that. Although, on the other hand, people that resent the band's popularity or its fan base refuse to give even reluctant praise. What they do on stage is pretty complex, and I've taken a few people to DMB shows that were convinced they wouldn't really like it, but after seeing that their live show is completely different than their studio stuff, changed their minds.
Pearl Jam has definitely taken a similar route to DMB in the past 8 years or so. I am completely in love with their live shows. Its awesome to hear songs played with variation. It helps to keep them fresh.

I like jack because his songs are fun to play on guitar. They have a ton of cool blues riffs and is really the only up tempo stuff that i know...well, that and creedance clearwater.

Re: Favorite Lyrics (keep 'em short)
Here's my favorite Zeppelin line...
And yesterday I saw you standing by the river,
And weren't those tears that filled your eyes?
And all the fish that lay in dirty water dying,
Had they got you hypnotized?
And yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers,
But all that lives is born to die.
And so I say to you that nothing really matters,
And all you do is stand and cry.
That's the Way---
And yesterday I saw you standing by the river,
And weren't those tears that filled your eyes?
And all the fish that lay in dirty water dying,
Had they got you hypnotized?
And yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers,
But all that lives is born to die.

Re: Favorite Lyrics (keep 'em short)
Well she's running to the hills again
Can you tell me if she'll ever return
She must be mother natures child
Cause she's runnin' to the call of the wild
She's talkin' to the trees again
Tellin' me that she's one of them
Lookin' at the bird in the tree
Though she's never gonna notice me
Oh is my love a confession
Will i just put it back today
If I had love left to give you
Would you still throw it away
Wolfmother- Colossal
Can you tell me if she'll ever return
She must be mother natures child
Cause she's runnin' to the call of the wild
She's talkin' to the trees again

Re: Favorite Lyrics (keep 'em short)
I'm only waiting for the proper time to tell you
That it's impossible to get along with you
It's hard to look you in the face when we are talking
So it helps to have a mirror in the room
I've not been really looking forward to the performance
But there's my cue and there's a question on your face
Fortunately I have come across an answer
Which is go away
And do not leave a trace
Waking up for breakfast
Burning matches
Talking quickly
Breaking baubles
Throwing garbage
Drinking soda
Looking happy
Taking pictures
So completely stupid
Just go away
White stripes
That it's impossible to get along with you
It's hard to look you in the face when we are talking
So it helps to have a mirror in the room
I've not been really looking forward to the performance
