Michael Turner
I've been hearing a lot of positive talk about this guy, but I'm not sold. I'm thinking the next Lamont Jordan. Anyone else have any thoughts on the guy and Atlanta's O?

Re: Michael Turner
Their offense might be ok. Hard to tell with a rookie QB back there but one thing that Ryan has always had at BC were the stones to air the ball out. With Roddy White and Michael Jenkins, he might be ok.
Their offensive line was decent, last i heard, infact, they have Justin Blalock from Texas (offensive guard) who i really wanted the jets to take in the 07 draft. He is a total mauler on running plays but one guard usually isn't enough to make for a good attack.
Turner could be a steal or a total bust in FF. I'd consider him in the 4th or 5th without question but i bet someone takes him before that.

Re: Michael Turner
Yeah I was thinking of him for FF. His stats in preseason have been ridiculous, but it is still preseason so it doesn't really count. I have my choices for RB, and you better stay the hell away from them!

Re: Michael Turner
I have my select few that i've always been after. I rarely change my horses year to year. So you can bet Turner isn't high on my priority list.
Re: Michael Turner
I'm curious about Shockey on the Saints. I hate the man, but in that kind of offense I think he might flourish a bit more than he did in NY

Re: Michael Turner
I'm never high on taking a TE. You are always going to have the dark horses that always produce but because they don't have an attitude nobody knows about them. I have my three TE's that i like and every year they produce similar numbers.
Shockey is interesting but such a boom or bust factor down there...IDK, i bet he does well but i'd hate to have to cheer for him.

Re: Michael Turner
Yeah, the thought of me cheering for him is like me cheering for Favre (which you know I will never take in any Fantasy League).

Re: Michael Turner
speaking of favre...i saw the yahoo list of QB's...they really have him rated poorly. I don't 100% disagree but he is still coming off a very good season.
It sucks being a jet fan because i always want to draft the jets...but their offense has always sucked...at least when chad was there. Maybe this year will be different.

Re: Michael Turner
I didn't see the list, but I think it'd be really hard to rank him since he's on a completely new team.

he mocks the falcons and in the same breath praises the raiders. Interesting.

i was only praising the RB that lit it up last year, not the team

are you talking about mcfadden? you do realize he was in college last year right?
Last i checked reggie bush 'lit it up' in college and has sucked or at least partially sucked, as a pro. you can hold your breath for mcfadden, he may turn out, he may not, all i know is, i'm glad he's not on the jets.

i believe the saints went like 12-4 that year on his rookie season?? something like that.... they fell apart last season. sarted like 2-7. i dont' think that is very bad, not to mention he was backup to mcallister. so he didn't get alot of carries.

I think it's funny that you are under the impression Reggie Bush didn't get many carries was because of injury riddled Deuce McAllister. Reggie didn't get carries because he averaged 3.7 on the ground that year. He was also in the bottom third of running backs that year for plays over 20 yards.
Funny, considering those statistics took catches into consideration and Bush had nearly 75 catches that year.

I've only ever done well in the NCAA thing once. I really suck at it, that, and i don't watch college basketball until march. So i can't keep my hopes too high.
Let them know we need a few for football, it would be better with more people.
Re: Michael Turner
the only difference is at least mcfadden was playing in the brutal SEC in college. When Bush was at USC, there were only 1-2 other Pac-10 teams that were even respectable. Whereas the SEC always has 4 teams in the top 10.
Obviously college doesn't prove anything, but at least McFadden has shown he can take a beating and actually had to break some tackles. Watching Bush at USC was like playing madden on easy mode

I'll be the first to admit not seeing a ton of Arkansas games last year. I saw all the stupid Youtube highlights and in those he is never touched. Sure that shows his dominating speed but lets be real, he will not be seeing those huge lanes in the NFL. If he does find them, yes, he'll probably hit it and hit it hard.
My concern with DMC is him not being able to take the punishment. We'll see though.
