(Waukesha, Wis.) - Carroll University's Stanislaw Miaskowski has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Men’s Soccer Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Miaskowski, a senior goalkeeper from Appleton, Wis. (Xavier High School), led the Pioneers to a 14-1-4 season that included the team's first-ever national ranking (ranked No. 12 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll).

Miaskowski earned first-team All-Midwest Conference honors this season while surrendering just 13 goals on the year, including just two goals in Midwest Conference regular-season play.

To be eligible for the national team, a student athlete had to have been selected to its District’s first team. Initial nomination criteria at the District level includes being a varsity starter or key reserve, maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, reaching sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by their sports information director.

Since the program's inception in 1952, COSIDA has bestowed Academic All America honors on more than 14,000 student athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.

The total package. Brains, beauty, and ridiculous goalkeeping ability.

Sidenote: I am transferring to Slippery Rock University.

I would like to see Jake around nerds. Would be pretty entertaining...in fact, I think he'd be a good candidate for a reality show...Angry Bomber is a good thing.
