Worst 3 teams in 2008 Empty Worst 3 teams in 2008

Post by drago Tue Aug 05, 2008 10:22 am

My favorite question every year is who will be the worst NFL squad.

Last year i almost nailed both in my Dolphins and Chiefs. If it wasn't for the Chiefs hot start (4-2) they would have been my horse. Fortunately they last every game after that start...lol

anyway, this year will be...

Dolphins
Chiefs
Bears

no particular order, although I do think the Bears will be looking at the first overall pick this year. They're in a mildly tough division and they flat out suck. If it wasn't for devon hester returning kicks to their opponents 25 yard line, i'd think they could get shut out the entire season. Laughing

I'd say that the Jets will for sure be one of them, but I think the other 2 will be surprises. I'm thinking the Falcons and the Raiders. Those teams are terrible.

Damnit, i forgot the raiders and falcons. I added the falcons but there was no room for oakland. Anywya, i think oakland will be right at 8 and 8 this year. They have a solid defense and should have a fast enough offense to sweep the terrible chiefs and broncos.

Great statement, Reynolds. So basically they are a good team but haven't performed. Who is there running back, Rudi? Getting old. Johnson still wants out. Defense still isn't there. It's not too far from just being in a free fall

30 is considered old for football players. as long as they aren't QB's or kickers. There are always examples like priest holmes but yes, 30 is old in football.

i think parcells is done as an effective NFL executive, and that his grip on that team will be detrimental. I think they still might be the worst team in the NFL, along with the Bears and the Falcons

the last good coaching job parcells did was in New York for the Jets. After that he has just made promises of being great and still not being able to see what a blind man could see in that Drew Bledsoe is terrible.

On that alone i think parcells is way past being an effective NFL employee.

as i said, you can find a few exceptions but when the average NFL career is 2.5 to 3 years, how can you argue that 30 isn't old?

reggie bush? i wouldn't want him on my team if he had 10 years of his prime to play through. the guy is overrated garbage.

tackles can play into their 30's, they tend to phase out around the ages of 33 and 34. Tomlinson will start to decline as well, he turns 29 this year and will soon be like shaun alexander, another has been.

unless you believe tomlinson will play until he is 40?

your getting off topic drago. the argument was is 30 old. it isn't most players can still perform at the age of 30

it is old is you are playing a video game and after ever season your vets go down in stats because they are getting to old to perform Smile

You need to read more about the NFL before you talk about it. RB's have a life span, on average, of 5 quality years.

NFL players = 2.5 to 3 years

the players you are listing are proven all-pros, not every player is an all-pro...Your reading retention is really terrible.

actually most players play for 4 years to get their pension after retirement. why don't you read up on it more.

all-pro. that is saying to much. only the gods of football can be called all-pro. most guy's who play to 30 or past are just average and up.

Why don't you look at any teams roster besides the packers.

why because two 14 year olds believe it to be so? It's just false. 30 is old for the NFL, there are exceptions but as a general rule, NFL players don't make it to 30.

If you want to win this arguement, try finding a statistic that shows the age of NFL players. If 15 percent of the active NFL players are over 30 i'd consider that a minor victory for you.

If you find it to be better than 35%, i'll stop watching football all together.

you really need to answer questions to an agrument before you claim victory.

30 years old = old by NFL standards

30 = able to play

Lets not overlook where this all started. Rudi Johnson in his prime was a good running back, but not great. He has had injury issues the last couple years, probably because (wait for it) HE'S GETTING OLDER. The NFL prime is 26-30, and then most players go down, though some are able to retain most-some of their old glory.
