NEW YORK -- Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jeremy Jeffress was suspended for 100 games Monday after his third violation of baseball's minor league program for a drug of abuse.

A 21-year-old right-hander, Jeffress also was suspended for 50 games on Aug. 30, 2007. He was Milwaukee's top pick in the 2006 amateur draft, the 16th selection overall, and received a $1.55 million signing bonus.

Tony Gwynn's son is going to get the chance to wear a San Diego Padres uniform just like his Hall of Fame father.

The Padres acquired outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. from the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday in exchange for outfielder Jody Gerut.

Gwynn Jr. got the news of the trade in a call from his father, who played for the Padres for 20 seasons and is now San Diego State's baseball coach.

So I see A-Rod tested positive to steroids in 2003. There was an interesting article that interviewed a player by the name of Greenwell (I'm not great with baseball names, so don't know who he is) but he seemed like a good guy that was surrounded by players that statistically would do better but were doping. It's sad how fast that sport is going towards a black hole, and I hope the NBA or NFL doesn't have have as rampant of steroid use as the MLB.

Holy crap, he is making a run at another Cy Young in half a damn season. His stock has to be soring for his FA splash. I'm curious it the Brewers make a play at getting Sheets locked up or if they stick with the promoting from within.

If we do not sign an ace to replace these two, we will need a lead off man that actually bats lead off. Weeks would be ok in the 6th slot but this is getting ridiculous, he ...

WTF was he thinking? I don't really care if the first one was on Hardy, what i do care is that a base runner made such a bad error he barely made it half way down the base line before getting tagged out. Cameron's was probably worse.

Normally I wouldn't call a series against the Nats "big", but considering our stumbles lately, a sweep here would be huge for confidence and our record. We really have to take advantage of the weak teams and not play down to their level.

Also, Sheets needs to get back on track...he's been terribly average the last few starts.

Sure we are winning and sure the pitching has been just short of fabulous. The thing that bothers me is the Brewers are leaning too heavily on the late inning big play. Now they are facing the Astros who have one of the better closers in the league, which takes the 9th inning heroics from us.
